Taiwan Travelogue 7D6N - Day 6 & 7

11:13:00 AM

Day 4 in Taipei. We decided to try the legendary Ah Zhong Mian Xian 阿宗面线 for breakfast, its just a short walk from our apartment. Its superb i can say! THE NICEST MIAN XIAN I EVER EATEN MAN!!! So different from the Singapore one. A MUST TRY FOR ALL!!! It was like the most comfortable food for us, having this warm bowl of mian xian early in the cold morning. Our stomach feels so good man haha^^

Informations and direction:
The famous and legendary Ah Zong Mian Xian (阿宗麵線)
65 TWD ($2.70 SGD)big and 50 TWD ($2.10 SGD)small

No. 8~1 Emei St, Taipei (East Xi Men Ding Pedestrian Area)

Couldn't resist the cong you bing 葱油饼 on the way back. They actually used duck egg for this. SUPER YUMMY!:D
Next up, we decided to train to Taipei Main Station for the underground mall 台北地下街 for last minute cheap shopping. It is another wholesale mall, selling mainly clothing, accessories and shoes. Shoes were selling at only NT200 storewide every stall, for clothing no bargain unless you buy 3 or more. I guess if you missed wu fen pu, we should come here. Not as cheap as wu fen pu, but still CHEAP!
I only got this picture from the shops, was showing it to my sis asking if she wants. Seriously i wasn't lying, everything was only NT200 each. Many different styles to choose from, they have the latest korean boots, sandals okay! Like those stylenanda kinds!
Tried this favour waffles, not too bad!
Went back to our apartment to take a nap cause we were too exhausted from all the walkings. Stopped by the weekend market at the red house, it was just like singapore flea market selling handmade products nothing much.
Next, we headed to Taipei Zoo Station for the Maokong Gondola. Do take note of the stops and operation timings.
The normal cabin and crystal cabin both same pricing, pay with your 'easy pass' if you have. You can top up at the counter if insufficient funds. Note that for crystal cabin you have to book at some kiosk outside the Gondola station, they have certain timings and different tickets.

We didn't know about the crystal cabins booking, so we have to wait for another 45mins for the next timing. We went for a walk around the area and discovered this musical fountain. The show starts every 15mins, it looks meh in the day time. Probably nicer during night time with the laser lights.

And YAY, here's our crystal cabin! You can see everything below you haha, better not wear skirt.

We went up to the highest peak, i think we came too late the sun was already setting. There's only a few street stalls and cafes, we didn't have much time to explore the area fully.

Matcha and some tea mixed ice cream, super nice! But so expensive also..
Getting down, its night time already.
Next, we headed over to TAIPEI 101. Wanted to go Ding Tai Fung for dinner, but when we reached there, the queue was so terrifying! Its about 30mins left to last order and the queue was still so long. I wonder if they even know that :? What a waste that we didn't get to try the authentic one here in Taiwan :((
Views from above. Nothing much, the scenery was like mehh. Not as bright as Singapore i can say.

Having the architect in me, i just have to snap more photos of this beautiful model(:

Ended the day with late night dinner. It was about 10pm, the restaurants/food stalls all closed already. The only few left was 24hours starbucks, macdonald and KFC. So we ended up taking away KFC back to the apartment, they used the bubble tea packing for the drinks. I think its a really good idea!! So that everything doesn't spill out when you swing the bags!
Last day, our brunch at some 'coffee shop' for two, cause the other two went back to the underground mall to do some very last minute shopping again haha! While we did ours around ximending, and we bought quite a few stuffs!

Its been a really memorable graduation trip with my besties. The girls whom i knew for 7 years, we grew together and did everything together. Just the most comfortable bunch to hang out with, even when I was miles from home. This Taiwan trip been really good to us, the places we went, the people we met and of course loving the chilly weather and cheap food/clothes :D Hope to have more trips like this in future!

xoxo,
Ting
